COVID-19 Update and Testing

Osteopathic Care is committed to protecting the health and safety of our patients during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

We are currently open to new and established patients and are committed to maintaining rigorous infection control procedures.  Part of our process includes having patients wear a mask to appointments.  If you do not have a mask, we will provide you with one at the start of your visit.  We are now also offering COIVD testing, see below for details.  Thank you for your support and stay safe!

The Philosophy of Osteopathy:

To find health should be the object of the doctor.  Anyone can find disease.

About Katherine Heineman DO

Dr. Kate Heineman has been an osteopathic practitioner in the Des Moines area since 2013. She chose the specialty of osteopathic manipulation as she felt it was the best form of medicine to potentially get to the root of the problem for any disease or condition.  Her goal with any osteopathic treatment is to communicate with and support the natural laws of healing within each patient by using her hands.  Beyond pursuing osteopathy, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, personal development, artisan food, travel, quiet moments, and anything outdoors.

We accept cash, check and all major credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

The number of visits changes from individual to individual.
All treatments must be paid in full on the day of your appointment.

Do you accept health insurance plans?

I have not signed contracts with any insurance companies so my services are reimbursed as an out-of-network provider.  I will provide you with a detailed superbill after each visit.  You can submit the superbill to your insurance company for reimbursement.  Some patients receive full reimbursements, some receive partial reimbursements, while others count it towards their yearly deductibles.  This will depend upon your insurance company and individual plan.

Dr. Heineman’s presence alone is healing. She listens intently and without judgement, always holding space for whatever you need during the encounter. What is truly amazing is her ability to listen not just to your words, but to the messages she interprets in your body using her hands. I am always in awe at how relaxed I am during her treatments, and how effective she is at finding what feels like the root of the issue and then helping my body find health.

Dr. Kate gives each patient in each encounter increase of health and healing.  She works at everyone moment through the treatment to connect fully to the healing forces present in the patient, which results in great and positive changes.

Dr. Heineman truly understands health and healing. Her incredible, vast knowledge of osteopathic medicine is grounded in an authentic intention to facilitate the body’s inherent wisdom and augment the inner health within each of her patients.  She listens intently to her patients, seeks to address the root causes underlying their health issues, and creates a space that allows for incredible changes to occur. I have both utmost gratitude for the healing she has facilitated in my own life.
